Legacy Conference

The legacy Conference was birthed 2000. It is a routine event executed by the Student-Led Movement of Great Commission Movement-Liberia, intended to train students for campus evangelism and discipleship.

Legacy @ 2018

This year, Legacy Conference was held on the campus of Cuttington University, Suakoko District, Bong County. The venue, being central Liberia made our decision to host the camp there a ‘strategic one,’ as it provided easy access to campers from every part of Liberia. The conference was scheduled for July 24 –29 2018, with a theme:   “Not ashamed” and text: Romans 1:13-17.  The goal of the event was toencourage participants to develop intimate relationships with Jesus Christ and inspire their confidence for evangelism, discipleship and leadership skills.

With the help of our partnership service for Legacy 2018, we congregated some 127 participants, from 11 accredited learning institutions across Liberia. Participants experienced a time of ‘life changing’ Praise and Worship, Plenary Devotional Talks, Seminars and Outreach to communities around the Cuttington University.

Your decision to support Legacy 2018 permitted us to have increased excitements with different sporting activities, bon-fire Night, African attire and Awards Night gave participants different flavors.

Actualization of Theme “I am Not Ashamed”

During the conference, 12 participants prayed to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and savior and 33 others rededicated their lives to Jesus Christ.

We also reached out through Evangelism, to people living in the communities around Cuttington University and 247 people heard a clear presentation of the Gospel through sharing of the Four Spiritual Laws, 118 prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord  & Savior and 56 people rededicated their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Immediate Feedback after Legacy 2018

As you read these Testimonials, you are encouraged to keep praying for our students that made commitments to serve the Lord. Let’s pray that the good Lord continues to grace them to be steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding in the works of the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58).

My mother has complained about me following bad friends and my behavior at home. I have not been listening to her. I am leaving Legacy 2018 willing to desist from some of those behaviors. I am going to try to leave some of those bad friends and improve on some of the things my mother has been complaining about.”

Another Participant said to me, “I have been sharing my faith. I have talked to many people about Jesus, but learning about Four Spiritual Laws has shown me a very simple way to evangelize."

I am not Ashamed

A young lady left Legacy Not Ashamed. She took the Four Spiritual Laws Booklet with her and had since been sharing in her community and passengers in Taxis. She has seen many prayed to receive Jesus Christ.

Legacy 2018 Resolution

Students were inspired to participate in the Global Launch, by joining the team to establish new campus movements across Liberia and Sierra Leone. The Conference body committed themselves to starting 13 New Campus movements across Liberia. Each campus is expected to draft their plan of action and submit. Also, 21 persons committed themselves to mobilize resources to go to Sierra Leone to open new campus movements.
