The Great Commission Movement in Liberia Women has successfully completed a Two Days Women Conference under the Theme: “Women Encounter (Mary Magdalene)”:  Text: Luke 8:1 from.

In fulfillment of the Great Commission Movement in Liberia, the women of the ministry held a Two Days conference form January 26-27 of 2018. The conference brought together about 157 participants from two counties Montserrado and Margibi. At the opening of the conference, Mrs. Venesa Taylor told participants that the meeting is intended to bring Mothers and young women together to learn new ways of living the word of God that upon leaving every woman will have an encounter to start a personal small group as initiatives to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. They were also urged to support local church in helping to fulfill the Great Commission.

During the Conference, outstanding God fearing Women shared Devotional talk,   Women in Leadership, Family Life, Healthy Living, Women in Missions, What Mom has to do for a daughter, Prayer and Using the Mary Magdalene Film.

Participants Testimonies

On the second day of the conference some women shared tremendous testimonies about how it has been an amazing time listening to inspired women who have had a lifetime impact on them:

Kolu from Christian Mission Church shared:  she had constantly seen a Child, while on her way to work, she had been touched to inquire about the child, but usually she reluctantly passed ignoring his situation. It happened while listening to Rev. Annet Taylor who said, there are mission opportunities around women, Kolu had shared that while she left the conference that afternoon, she made an inquiry about the boy she normally passed. Now Kolu had given this little child a smile by providing him a set of uniform because his parent told her that the child had often been rejected from school for lack of uniform. Kolu says she is glad for meeting the urgent need of a child after listening to teaching during this conference.

Mrs. Yatta Myers and two of her friends had travelled the longest way to come for this conference. They came from Kakata, Margibi County about 45miles from the conference’s location. She narrated how the importance of the conference had compared them to let go their local money making activities (They all do Out-of Town business for sustainability). She said, it was a tough decision to come for the conference. However, she admitted that she had been challenge to start a group that would help her to share the mission of God. They all made a commitment to invite the GCM Office to train them better for God’s service.

Mrs. Yatta Myers in her direct words after listening to Rev. Normon Clarke who spoke about what “Mom can do for a Daughter”:  “I put one of my daughters out due to pregnancy, but listening to this teaching about what a mother should do for her daughter, I am going to bring my daughter back home to try to be an example for her. I will pray with her and guide her to avoid the second occurance”.

GCM women, we are so happy  to have heard that Madam Myers on January 28,  brought her daughter back home and accepted her like the father of the prodigal son accepted his son not with a big ceremony but an open heart.
